American Red Cross to Honor Local Humanitarian

American Red Cross chapters serving Riverside County and the Coachella Valley/Morongo Basin are pleased to announce that longtime senior Hilton executive Ben Fusco will receive the 2018 Humanitarian Award at the HD Supply Invitational charity golf tournament benefitting American Red Cross and the Gary Sinise Foundation.

The tournament, held at the La Quinta Resort & Club, a Waldorf Astoria property since 2010, has raised nearly $500,000 with the American Red Cross as the primary recipient.

“Funds from the charity tournament helps us with our service delivery and it inspires others to support our mission,” said Lois Beckman, executive director, American Red Cross serving Riverside County and Coachella Valley/Morongo Basin. “We depend on a foundation of committed, compassionate supporters and charitable events to help those in need. Ben Fusco’s support of our organization has been a constant. The support of this tournament ensures that we will always be ready and able to offer lifesaving assistance in communities down the street, across the country and around the world.”

Upon learning of his award, Fusco praised the organizations he has supported.

“I am truly honored to be the recipient of this most prestigious award. It has been a fulfilling pleasure and a privilege to work closely with the American Red Cross and Access Sports Limited, Inc.,” said Fusco. “I have enormous respect and admiration for the extraordinary work you and your organizations do every day that benefit so many meaningful objectives.”

Fusco will be presented with the award on the evening of March 25, 2018 at the official event dinner.  As part of the presentation, he will also be awarded a $10,000 honorarium from Access Sports Limited, Inc. to support a charity of his choice.
