McCallum Theatre Announces DeAnn Lubell-Ames at the Theatre's New Publicist
The McCallum Theatre is pleased to announce that DeAnn Lubell-Ames has accepted the position as the Theatre’s new publicist. Lubell-Ames' duties will include securing media coverage for the Theatre’s more than one hundred performances each season, as well as promoting special fundraising and educational events.
“We are excited about DeAnn Lubell-Ames joining our team,” said President and CEO Mitch Gershenfeld. “DeAnn brings with her an extensive background in public relations and marketing, as well as being a gifted writer. She has lived in the Coachella Valley since 1991 and is highly respected by those who have worked and socialized with her.”
Lubell-Ames sits on the board as Vice President for Palm Springs Women in Film and Television. She has been a marketing and media consultant for Angel View, Olive Crest, Coachella Valley Symphony, Cabaret Theatre West, the Indian Wells Art Festival, as well as many other non-profits and private enterprises including the Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa.
She produced seven well-known ballets and wrote one original. She has written many articles for Palm Springs Life Magazine, The Desert Sun, Desert Charities, and Desert Magazine.
Published works include a novelette, historic and educational books for Little Folk Visuals, as well as a medical educational guide on the functions of the human body. Her 2010 historical novel, The Last Moon, has won five national awards and three international awards, as well as the 2012 Gold Medal for Readers Favorite Awards, and most recently, first place in the category of history at the 2016 Amsterdam Book Festival.
