Desert Orthopedic Center Medical Research Foundation
The Desert Orthopedic Medical Research Foundation was founded in 1994 and is led by a board of directors that includes physicians as well as members of the community. Since its inception, the Foundation has sponsored many projects leading to improved care in Orthopedic Surgery. These projects have included working with some of the leading medical device companies in the world and have studied devices and/or procedures for shoulders spine and most recently, the effects of acupuncture in reducing pain for patients after they have undergone a knee, hip or shoulder replacements. These papers are published so that all those in the orthopedic field nave access to new knowledge; and EDOC participates in training other medical professionals. The Foundation is funded by grants from companies sponsoring research, but independent research is funded by generous donations from individuals and organizations in the community that share our commitment to improve patient care. The Desert Orthopedic Medical Research Foundation is located within the offices of Eisenhower Desert Orthopedic Center in the Harry and Diane Rinker Building on the Eisenhower Campus.
