Coachella Valley Rescue Mission

The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission (CVRM) is a nonprofit organization devoted to serving those in need by sharing love, dignity and respect through the provision of food, shelter, clothing and recovery. In order to accomplish this, we use the available means of the mission, which include programs such as Feeding the Hungry, Providing Shelter, Women and Family Services, Gateway Program and the New Life Program. The Mission currently provides over 325,000 meals each year to hungry men, women and children in the Coachella Valley. We offer three daily meals to our residents every day of the year. In addition, we provide 300+ families with groceries each week and distribute food boxes. The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission’s facility currently houses 185 men, women and children. Moreover, CVRM also offers Emergency Shelter for an additional 115 men, women and children each night in our multi-purpose overnight shelter. All individuals in this program are served breakfast and dinner, along with the options of showers, clothes, hygiene products and case management services. Furthermore, clients have access to the on-site non-emergency medical clinic, as well as to professional licensed mental health counselors staffed by a local non-profit. On any given day an estimated 5,000 people are homeless in Riverside County, nearly half of which are women and children. For this reason we offer the Women and Family Shelter, a refuge for the needy and sometimes abused. CVRM’s Women and Family Shelter provides love, care, counseling and a place of safety for women and children in crisis. The two residential programs the Mission provides for men and women seeking to change their lives are; the Gateway Program, a secular 6-month educational/vocational program, and the New Life Program, a faith-based 9-month program dedicated to help clients learn to take responsibility for their actions, to re-learn values and work ethics, and to seek a new direction for their futures. All services at CVRM are provided free of charge to all arriving in need, regardless of gender, national origin, ethnic background, social economic group, religion or age group. In order to fulfil the mission of our organization, we rely heavily on the support of the community through donations. In-kind items, such as, canned and non-perishable food items, clothing, furniture, toiletries, diapers and formula are always in need. Information to support the Mission is found below.
