Desert Cancer Foundation
Desert Cancer Foundation was founded more than two decades ago to pay for treatment of cancer patients who lack health insurance or sufficient funds to pay for their medical care. Desert Cancer Foundation works with the support of local healthcare professionals, social workers, case workers, and advocates to share the availability of our program with the community. Program applicants are individually reviewed by a volunteer patient assistance committee, which includes medical professionals, social workers, financial counselors, board members and program staff. The primary consideration for acceptance in the Desert Cancer Foundation program is a demonstrated need for financial assistance to obtain local cancer treatment. Since inception, Desert Cancer Foundation has paid for cancer related screening, diagnosis and treatment for more than 8,000 local residents valued at more than $82.4 million, at a cost of only $9.4 million. Desert Cancer Foundation serves residents of the Coachella Valley and local surrounding communities.
