Lukes Legacy Foundation

Luke’s Legacy vows: to financially give aid to a diverse selection of nonprofit animal rescue operations whose ultimate goal is to place the rescues in viable forever homes. to provide financial support for the prevention of more unwanted animals through worthwhile spaying and neutering programs. to give financial support to veterinarians associated with nonprofit rescue centers whose pawed patients are unable to receive crucial treatment due to the financial constraints of their owners. Luke’s Legacy Foundation is a public tax-exempt charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (95-4725924) and has its own tax exempt number, 47-2206419. Each year, through a host of fundraising techniques and events designed to insure the success of their Mission, Luke’s Legacy Foundation will donate grants to a number of nonprofit rescue centers. The ultimate goal is to guarantee that a variety of non-profit rescue centers have the necessary financial resources to ensure that the abandoned or unwanted animals across the country receive adequate medical care, including neutering or spaying, and, foremost, find a forever home in a loving family environment. Melanie Scherer, a life-long resident of California, has committed her fundraising expertise to the formation and execution of Luke’s Legacy Foundation. Melanie first attended an animal rescue benefit in 2007. She was so touched by the stories of rescue and adoption that she called and volunteered her services the following day. At the time, Melanie wasn’t aware that it would change her life forever … for the good. Melanie now serves as president of the Board of Directors for the Foundation.
