The Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District is a non-enterprise special district accountable to the residents of the Coachella Valley and charged with protecting the public health within its boundaries through the control of vectors (such as mosquitoes) and vector-borne diseases. The District boundary encompasses 2400 square miles, including Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, Indio, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, and unincorporated sections of Riverside County.
